  • Liberty Communications Unveils Sleek Website

    Liberty Communications Unveils Sleek Website

West Liberty, Iowa, May 15 2025—Liberty Communications, a family-owned telecommunications provider, announced the launch of a redesigned website promising a sleek new look and a streamlined user experience.

“We’ve been connecting rural Iowans since 1908, but the ways we connect continue to evolve, and we’re evolving with it” said Sandee Buysse, Marketing Manager at Liberty Communications. “The new website is just another example of our dedication to the communities we serve, and our commitment to giving them the best possible experience. We’ve listened to their feedback to create a space that truly serves their needs.”

    Improving form and function

Visitors will notice a clean, modern aesthetic that highlights the rural communities Liberty serves. But the changes go deeper than looks. All users—especially those visiting the site from their mobile device—will also appreciate improved functionality, as the website was designed to better suit the needs of rural residents, who primarily use their phones to browse the web.

Web accessibility and ADA compliance was also a focus during the refresh, with the new design offering larger font sizes, improved color contrasts, and simplified page layouts to ensure people of all abilities can easily compare plans and get connected. The site also offers an option to toggle between English and Spanish, enabling users to view the entire website in their preferred language.

A better connection is just a click away

Speaking of shopping, perhaps the most noteworthy improvement is Liberty’s new online ordering process. For the first time, customers can buy internet, phone, and other Liberty services fully online, although customers are always welcome to call if they’d prefer to make their purchase over the phone.

Comparison-shopping is easier, too, with a new “Check Availability” drop-down menu that allows residents to view the services available in their specific location with all prices and options clearly displayed.

Other improvements include better self-help resources on the support page, so customers can quickly resolve simple tech issues, and adding a fully online application process for Liberty’s high school scholarships, so students no longer need to print and fill out paper applications by hand.

The new website is live now at www.libertycommunications.com.

    Liberty Continues To Expand

Liberty Communications  Corp. may be one of Eastern Iowa’s fastest growing broadband companies, but it hasn’t lost sight of its roots.

Liberty has been serving the area for 116 years and continues to commit to ensuring Iowa is a wonderful place to work and live for generations to come. The company has announced two new network builds to bring fiber internet to residents near West Liberty, as well as plans to fully convert their DSL customers near West Branch to a 100% fiber-to-the-home network. These new projects are happening alongside other significant investments Liberty has made in Fairfield, Mt. Pleasant and Centerville following its acquisition of Natel Broadband in 2022.

“With homeschooling and remote work, fiber internet has become just as essential as electricity,” said Brandy Marquez, Marketing and Experience Manager at Liberty Communications Corp. “We aim to expand as quickly as we can to serve as many people as possible, while continuing to invest in the communities that have supported us for more than a century. As we grow, we are committed to maintaining that same great customer experience we’re known for. These projects, especially our conversion to 100% fiber, are just a few ways we’re holding true to that promise.”

The first broadband build is already underway, which will add 90 new households to Liberty’s service area, giving them access to fiber internet. Residents in a rural subdivision on and around American Legion Road, located between West Liberty and Iowa City, will be able to get fiber service from Liberty beginning late this summer.

Later this year, Liberty’s remaining projects will begin. The first will bring broadband service to an Empower Rural Iowa Broadband Grant area northwest of West Liberty, connecting approximately 27 rural households to Liberty’s fiber network. The second is a fiber-to-the-home conversion that will bring the latest broadband technology to Liberty’s remaining DSL customers near West Branch. Both projects are expected to wrap before the end of 2023, at which time all Liberty customers will be able to enjoy the speed and reliability of fiber optic technology.
